MEET LEVI
Levi Bachmeier has spent his career fighting for better schools and better opportunities for students.
A former teacher, coach, education policy leader, and school finance director, Levi brings real classroom experience, real policy expertise, and real results by focusing on getting the most out of every dollar and maximizing the potential of every student.
Appointed by Governor Kelly Armstrong as North Dakota’s Superintendent of Public Instruction on October 21, 2025, Levi was chosen for his proven record of driving innovation, strengthening accountability, and keeping the focus where it belongs—on students. He has also served on the State Board of Public School Education, the Career and Technical Education Board, and the State Board of Higher Education, helping shape the future of learning across our state.
Levi began his career teaching high school social studies before advising Governor Doug Burgum on education policy, helping lead the state’s Innovative Education Task Force. In West Fargo, he managed resources responsibly and prioritized student outcomes while coaching numerous conference and state champions in track and field.
A West Fargo native and Concordia College graduate, Levi believes every child deserves an effective education that prepares them for the real world. As Superintendent, he is committed to partnering with families, educators, and communities to ensure every student graduates Choice Ready—and to make North Dakota a national leader in educational excellence.
